Google Business Profile for plumbers

1. Pick Plumber as the primary category

   Add Drainage Service, Heating Contractor or Gas Installation Service as secondary categories only where you genuinely do that work. The primary category decides which searches you show up for, so it should name the job you most want.

2. Set hours that match when you actually answer

   If you take emergency calls at midnight, say so with a 24 hour setting. If you do not, do not claim it. A profile that says open next to a phone nobody answers earns a one star review about being unreachable.

3. Put your Gas Safe registration in the description

   In plain words, with the number. It is the fastest trust signal you have, and the description is text Google can read and a customer can scan.

4. List the jobs people search for in a panic

   Burst pipe, blocked drain, boiler repair, leaking radiator, bathroom fitting. Each of those is a service entry and each is somebody's exact search when the water is already on the floor.

5. Add photos of real work and your van

   The van especially. It tells a customer who is arriving, and it is the difference between a profile that looks like a business and one that looks abandoned.

6. Reply to every review, including the bad one

   A calm reply to a complaint reads better to the next customer than a wall of five stars with nothing said. It also tells Google the profile is looked after.
