Google Business Profile for electricians

1. Pick Electrician as the primary category

   Not Electrical Installation Service, not Contractor. The primary category does more to decide which searches you appear for than anything else on the Profile. Add the others as secondary categories if they genuinely apply.

2. Put your accreditations in the description and the services

   NICEIC, NAPIT, Part P. A customer scanning three profiles is looking for a reason to trust one, and a registration number is the strongest one you have. Write it in plain words rather than as a logo, because the description is text Google can read.

3. Set a service area, not a shop

   You work at the customer's property. Set the boroughs and towns you actually cover so you appear across the patch, rather than dropping a single pin on your house.

4. List the jobs people search for

   Fuse board upgrades, EICR reports, rewires, EV charger installation, fault finding. Each one is a service entry, and each is a phrase somebody types when they need it urgently.

5. Add photos of finished boards and real vans

   Not stock images. A photograph of a clean consumer unit you fitted is worth more than any adjective, and profiles with genuine photos get materially more calls.

6. Ask for a review at the end of every job

   While the customer is standing there pleased. Reviews are the biggest single lever on local ranking, and a steady trickle beats one burst then nothing for a year.
